Guinea pig care and advice

Never alone

Guinea pigs should all ways be kept in pairs. As if not this can lead to loneliness and depression which can cause illness Or death, we keep our girls in groups with a neutered male to keep them in check!

Fresh fruit and veg

Fresh veg and fruits should be provided to your piggy daily However to much veg may lead to bloat which if not treated quickly many lead to death, make sure to do your research on what’s best for your guinea pig to eat and make sure it’s fed in moderation, ice burge lettuce is a big one to avoid!

Treats and biscuits gains trust

Treats are a great way to bond with your piggy! a daily treat can go a long way in helping your pig get use to you and build trust, hand feeding teaches your piggy’s that good things come from the hand! Petting them in the cage always helps with trust and confidence. Make sure there’s fresh guinea biscuits down all the

Cold and damp

The damp can lead to chest infections easily and if not treated can be fatal. always provide your guinea pig the largest cage possible with plenty of hides and enrichment. We recommend always having your guineas indoors and letting them go on the grass during the summer months and only in the day.
